Transforming the library into a flexible learning space for Woodside High School students

Opened in 2000, designed with lofty ceilings and natural light, the Woodside High School library is a well-used learning setting on campus. From 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, four days a week, it is the spot for quiet study in the afternoons, for academic study for students between classes, for teachers to bring classes for research and group work.  It's also a popular place for students to meet friends at break and lunch.

But well-used also means well-worn, and curricula and technology have changed significantly in the past 17 years making the current layout unsuited to today’s student and study needs. The library is sorely in need of updating to provide new functionality and flexibility. The result will be an expanded and improved learning environment for increased student productivity.

With your help, the ‘Library Refresh’ project will:

  • Swap out the library desktops for laptops (the desktops can be used to replace outdated computers elsewhere on campus.)

  • Upgrade the furniture for flexibility to create varied settings: collaborative spaces for groups of 2 - 6, and single student study spaces.

  • Add a built-in smart board for an instruction area.

Let's raise $75,000 for our library! Donate here.
