What We Do

The WHSF raises funds and distributes them to support and enhance projects and programs at WHS.

Raising Funds

Our major sources of general funds, which support current critical needs, are the annual Fall Direct Mail Campaign, and the annual Spring into Auction. The WHSF Endowment is supported by the Tour for Woodside bike ride, held in September.

Granting Funds

One of the most critical committees on the Executive Board is the Grant Committee. This group works with staff, administration, and parents to generate and research grant applications and make recommendations for funding to the Board. Applications are considered based on the Foundation criteria for “broad-based, substantial, and lasting impact on the entire school community.” There are three funding cycles during the school year in which applications are accepted and funds granted:
