How to Volunteer

Support Foundation Fund Raising Efforts

We depend on volunteers from the WHS school family and community to accomplish our annual fund-raising goals. Volunteers work throughout the year helping organize and produce the Foundation’s main fund-raising activities, including:

Spring into Auction

When: Saturday, April 25, 2009
What: An evening of fun and spirited fund-raising that includes a silent auction, live auction, dinner and dancing. The Auction Committee needs lots of volunteers to help with publicity, generate donations and underwriting, produce display materials, and handle set-up.

Tour for Woodside

When: September 21, 2008
What: The Tour is a bike ride for all levels of riders through beautiful Woodside and the Peninsula, beginning and ending at Woodside High School. Volunteers are needed to help publicize the event, sign-up riders, and help in dozens of capacities on ride day.

Fall Campaign

When: Annually in October
What: An evening of stuffing envelopes and camaraderie to prepare the annual Fall Campaign materials for mailing. Volunteers also help set-up for the activity and provide food and beverages.

Become a Parent/Community Board Member

Many of our supporters like to be “on-call” to assist with one or more Foundation events. If you would like to receive notifications about volunteer opportunities and invitations to Foundation get-togethers, consider becoming one of our Parent or Community Board members. Contact Jayne Smith.

If you would like to talk to someone about these events or other volunteer opportunities, please contact Foundation President Kathleen Carr.

“Without the Foundation's generous grant for the Infotrac Databases, the Library would not be able to provide access to this wonderful research tool. The students, staff, curriculum and I are truly grateful for this gift.”
